Keep Chamblee Beautiful (KCB) began in 1991 when Virginia Baker established the 501(c)(3) as Chamblee Clean and Beautiful, operating under the umbrella of Keep DeKalb Beautiful. For 20+ years, the organization performed countless litter collections, tree and flower plantings, park bench installations, Christmas tree recycling programs, stream clean-ups and much more.
By 2015, Chamblee’s population had expanded to nearly 30,000 residents thanks to multiple annexations. More young singles, couples and families moved into Chamblee, and brought new energy and excitement around reinvigorating Keep Chamblee Beautiful.
In June 2019, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Chamblee, Georgia, formally acknowledging our common mission to improve Chamblee’s environmental sustainability by supporting programs to end littering, improve recycling, beautify our community, and by offering opportunities for volunteer citizen stewardship towards these goals.
In March 2022, we celebrated our official affiliation with Keep America Beautiful (KAB).
In January 2023, we were proud to receive the KAB President’s Circle Award and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s Governor’s Circle Award for outstanding achievements in community beautification and environmental sustainability.
KCB’s Officers are all volunteer citizens of Chamblee, and this organization is self-funded. Every penny of your membership money and/or donation(s) go right back into the City of Chamblee, in ways that help support our mission.
